The Jamieland Oil Company was established almost a year ago. Geologists working for the Jamieland
government discovered a potential oil source several hundred kilometers north east of Blandington. This area was all owned
by the government to be devolped at a later time. When they investigated more thoroughly they found that this was a massive
oil deposit. It stretched for hundreds of kilometers east and north into areas densely forested and unaccessable. however
the southern portentions of the fields were in a region of low lying vergitation and were easily accessible.
Work began on developing the fields as soon as possible. Within a month a pipeline had been constructed
to a refinery just east of the Blandington Electrical Generating Station. The refinery was quickly constructed with help from
the corporate sectors of Jamieland; companies such as JamieTech, Blandington Construction Co. , PB&J Oil department, and
others. The refinery is the largest oil refinery in Jamieland working at nearly a million barrels of oil per day. There are
other smaller refineries elsewhere in Jamieland.
They are only used to service smaller areas where it is cheaper to transport crude oil instead of
the final products. In the far northern areas of Jamieland, north of the rainforest, there is a smaller refinery
that looks after the towns and cities in that region. Also plans are in the works for another refinery in the far south where
roads are difficult to make over the sand. Oil is planned to be shipped down The River Gwana from the main pipeline , north
of Blandington, to a port in the south of Jamieland.
The Jamieland Oil Company is the largest oil company in Gwananaskow and is fully owned by the Jamieland
government. Unlike JamieTech® which has become a private corporation The Jamieland Oil Company will remain owned and operated
by the government to keep oil rates low so that everyone has easy access to fossil fuels and other petro-chemicals.
